With snow continuing to fall in Jefferson County, the Brinnon School District announced just after 7 a.m. Tuesday that school would be canceled for Dec. 20.
A winter snowstorm socked Western Washington overnight, with snow slowing traffic throughout the region.
Schools in Port Townsend and Quilcene were also closed early Tuesday, while Chimacum students were already out of class due to the winter break that started Monday.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect in northwest and west central Washington through 7 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, snow accumulations of 2 to 8 inches were forecast across the region.
