Four students from Chimacum High School have been chosen to represent the North Olympic Region in the WIAA/WMEA State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Ellensburg in April. Those students are, from left, Madison Boyd, mezzo-soprano voice; Owen Brummel, baritone voice; Emily Calkins, alto voice, alternate; and Nate Miller, alto saxophone. The students have already competed against instrumentalists and vocalists from Chimacum, Port Angeles, Port Townsend and Sequim high schools, and have won the opportunity to compete against the best high school musicians in the state, said Chimacum schools choir director Tina Grewell.
