Posted

University of Washington junior Eliza Dawson, of Port Townsend, was awarded the Outstanding Student Presentation Award for her presentation at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco in December.

The award is only given to the top 3 to 5 percent of graduate and undergraduate presentations at a conference attended by 24,000 scientists.

Her presentation was based on her climate research done at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton, New Jersey.

Dawson is studying atmospheric science at the University of Washington.

She is a Hollings Scholar for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
