At 2:34 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, in the 1000 block of Tyler Street, a woman reported a possible fraud. She said she and her partner were in the process of a buying a house, but the seller was giving them problems. It appeared there were issues with the seller’s bank, and that the couple were out a good deal of money as a result.

Suspicious, the woman researched the property and found it had been listed for sale seven times in the past few years.

Officers drove by and did not see any for sale signs on the property. The woman was advised it was a civil matter.

At 7:11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, officers received information that a white SUV had left the roadway near 19th and Landes streets. Officers found two men sleeping in the vehicle, neither of which had valid driver’s licenses.

The men were advised to find a licensed driver to remove the vehicle from the bushes, because they would be arrested if they drove with suspended licenses.

At 10:12 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, a caller in the 900 block of McPherson Street reported that when she arrived home, her gate was open and her faucet was running.

Another night, she said, she discovered vomit on the ground near her shed. She believes someone is hanging around her property overnight.

At 11:34 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, in the 2300 block of Haines Street, a woman reported a dog was running off-leash, and that it had been aggressive with other dogs in the past. She told officers that the dog made it back into its yard, but she was too afraid to go outside and shut the gate.

An officer arrived, located the dog, put it in the yard, and fastened the gate.

At 2:47 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, a caller said a man who lives in the 1400 block of Center Street said he had forgotten his Social Security card and other ID documents in the fax machine at QFC. When he returned, they were gone.

Officers determined no fraud had yet been committed, but the caller was encouraged to contact credit bureaus and banking institutions.
