The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 145 calls for service last week. The following were selected from the report.

Saturday, July 22: At 2:25 a.m., officers received reports of an intoxicated male attempting to get into different vehicles using a credit card on the 600 block of Water Street. The subject was assisted with a ride home by a citizen.

At 1:57 p.m., a verbal disturbance was reported in Fort Worden. It was not a threat, and no physical assault or other crime was committed.

Sunday, July 23: At 5:50 p.m., someone witnessed a blue-gray pickup truck hit and damage the side of a parked vehicle. Officers were able to identify both the suspect and the victim, and assisted in the exchange of information. Charges are being forwarded to a prosecutor.

At 10:56 p.m., a woman stated a white truck with tinted windows was aggressively stalking her at the corner of Jackman Street and 10th Street. Officers patrolled the area throughout the night and into the morning, but could not locate the truck.

Monday, July 24: At 12:45 p.m., an attempted burglary was reported on the 300 block of Sherman Street. The reporting party’s garage door was opened and glass was broken, but nothing was stolen. The reporting party specified they only called to alert the police; they did not want to take action.

At 4:13 p.m., two men attacked another man at the corner of Hancock Street and Seventh Street. The victim suffered facial and leg injuries. The two suspects fled in a vehicle, but were located with help from the sheriff’s department. Both suspects were arrested and charged with felony assault.

Tuesday, July 25: At 9:39 a.m., two solar panels valued at approximately $1,200 were stolen from a job site on the 2800 block of Washington Street. The theft occurred between three to six days prior to the report.

At 11:14 a.m. on the 2800 block of Washington Street, a caller reported a known person was threatening to fight him. The suspect followed the reporting party, continuing to yell and tempt him to fight. Officers developed probable cause for disorderly conduct; however, the reporting party declined to press charges.

At 3:02 p.m. on the 1500 block of Water Street, the reporting party stated a known subject “went crazy.” He was yelling, swearing, and threatening to come back with a knife. Officers developed probable cause for disorderly conduct; however, the reporting party declined to press charges.

Wednesday, July 26: At 11:27 a.m., a burglary was reported on the 3000 block of Howard Street. Overnight, someone entered the reporting party’s shop through a closed gate. The suspect stole batteries and gas cans. The responding officer completed a report. The investigation is still open.

Thursday, July 27: At 9:57 p.m. on the 300 block of Hudson Street, someone reported an alert on their phone detecting an Airtag moving with their vehicle. The detection began in Tacoma. The reporting party was en route to Port Townsend and requested officers conduct frequent patrols.

At 5:08 p.m. in the Port of Port Townsend, the reporting party accidentally tapped another boat as they were entering the port. A person on the other boat started to yell obscenities at the reporting party over the PA system. Officers contacted both parties and found no damage. No crime was committed.

At 5:25 p.m. officers patrolled the concert area at Pope Marine Park to have positive interactions with the public and enforce illegal complaints.

Friday, July 29: At 12:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Washington Street, officers responded to an alarm set off by motion detectors at this location. The building was found secure and no activity was observed.

At 10:21 a.m. a drug deal reportedly occurred between three vehicles on the 700 block of E Park Avenue. Due to the delay in reporting, officers requested copies of video evidence for ongoing investigations.
