The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 146 calls between Friday, Jan. 21, and Thursday, Jan. 27.  Below are selected reports.

At 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, a burglary alarm in the 2100 block of Water Street was activated. When officers arrived, there were two cars parked nearby, one that was not running.

Both people at the scene had suspended licenses. They were advised to get a ride and leave the area.

At 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, a woman in the 3200 block of Cliff Street called to say her boyfriend had put his hands on her and threatened to kill her and take her son.

She described her boyfriend as “a large, beefy guy,” and told officers to bring backup because “Tasers don’t work on him.”

She also said he was “blacked-out angry,” and drunk.

She was calling from her mother’s house, where she fled after an altercation that began in the bathtub, when the boyfriend asked her about missing car keys. The pair ended up in the garage, where the man twisted her arm behind her back. She then ran to her mother’s. Officers arrived and observed that the woman was intoxicated.

The boyfriend would not answer the door and locked all entrances.

Against the advice of officers, the woman tried to climb into the house through an open window. She eventually walked back to her mother’s place. There were extensive issues at home, but at the moment everyone was separate and safe.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, a caller from the 700 block of Sheridan Street said a woman kept coming onto her property. She took hanging plants from the caller’s residence and threw them into a field, and smashed the caller’s decorative pumpkins.

The caller believes the woman has a serious mental illness, and didn’t want the woman to get in trouble.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, a man and a woman in the 2100 block of Renee Place were arguing and yelling and saying they needed help on the phone. When asked what kind of help they needed, they hung up. They called back, but hung up again.

Officers arrived at the residence to discover both parties had been drinking, and were concerned that they were being recorded or followed.

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, a caller in the 600 block of Clay Street complained that someone was lying on a sofa in the lobby and yelling.

When officers arrived, the person had returned to their room and was fine.
