Officers came to the store and spoke to the manager, who told them that the incident occurred around 4 a.m. and the thief took a blue, steel utility cart worth $139.

The officers reviewed security footage, noted the cart being taken, and identified a potential suspect.

Officers later located the suspect and arrested him. He informed the police of the stolen cart’s location and the officers retrieved it. The suspect was charged and later released.

At 9:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, a suicidal person in the 600 block of Clay Street was transferred from a crisis line to the police. The person was self-harming and reported hearing voices.

At 2:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in the 1600 block of 19th Street, a theft was reported by a resident in the area.

They told police that pillows, chairs, and a push broom left outside had been stolen. There is no suspect at this time.

At 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, a caller at the Water and Tyler streets intersection reported hearing a man screaming outside.

Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, a potential dog in distress was reported in the 1000 block of Lawrence Street by a passerby.

The person said a dog was locked in a hot vehicle with the windows cracked, and it appeared to be panting. An officer drove to the area but the car was already gone.

At 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, in the 800 block of Washington Street, a caller reported two men fighting on a patio.

The caller said the pair were beating each other up and the caller was watching from a nearby restaurant.

Officers arrived and could hear an argument. Neither man had any visible signs of a skirmish, and the two told police that they are a father and son.

After having a prior argument, one of the men kicked a nearby flower pot and accidentally broke it.

The two calmed down and eventually all parties left due to the father and son showing no signs of criminal intent.
