The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 149 calls between Friday, Sept. 16, and Thursday, Sept. 22. Below are selected reports.

At 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, a caller in the 600 block of Taft Street reported a potential abuse situation nearby. They heard a woman screaming, a man’s voice, and loud banging sounds. Officers arrived and spoke with a man. He said that he and his partner had gotten into an argument but it was verbal only and the woman had left. Officers attempted to call the woman but no one answered.

There were no signs of violence but the officers made a note of calling the woman again.

At 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, batteries from an RV in the 2300 block of Sims Way were stolen from a for-sale lot near a roundabout.

Two 6-volt batteries valued at $400 were taken, and there was no camera or suspect information available.

At 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, in the 400 block of West Sims Way, two people were seen on the roof of a grocery store with flashlights.

An officer called the store and was told that workers were cleaning sections of the roof.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, a resident in the 1600 block of Ninth Street reported loud noises coming from her upstairs neighbor. The woman was advised to speak with her building manager if the noise continued.

The woman said she felt like she’s being targeted, saying, “It’s almost as if they know which room I’m in.”

At 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, malicious mischief was reported in the 1500 block of 19th Street after a caller found feces all over their car. The excrement was all over the vehicle and even rubbed on the air intake system. Photos were taken of the car.

The substance appeared to be mostly dry, and the vandalism likely happened overnight. The caller believes they know who did it and police advised them to get a protection order.

At 12 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the 900 block of Benton Street, a caller told police that their table stand paper cutter, worth around $2,500, was stolen from their home. The paper cutter was detached from its spot in the garage and likely occurred the night before. There is no suspect information at this time.

At 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in the 1100 block of Water Street, a woman was reportedly digging through the recycled paper bin behind a business in the area.

She was described as being in her 20s with long hair and wearing a red, long-sleeve top and jeans. An officer spoke with the woman. She said she was looking for Pokemon cards that had been thrown out by the business and had permission from the store to do so.

At 10:40 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, a man and woman near the Discovery Road and Rainier Street intersection were involved in a verbal confrontation. Officers drove to the location and spoke with the pair. After the woman had shown up in a silver car outside a motorhome, the man ran into the nearby woods to get away from her.

The woman claimed that she came to the motor home to retrieve a gas can. The argument was only verbal with no violence, and all parties left the area due to no crime occurring.

At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in the 500 block of Hendricks Street, a caller told dispatchers that her rhododendron plant had been heavily cut and branches were left all over the street.

The caller wanted an officer to speak with her neighbor, who she claimed had done the cutting, though she didn’t have any proof that the neighbor was responsible.
