The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 185 calls between Friday, March 3, and Thursday, March 9. Below are selected reports.

At 6 p.m. Monday, March 6, an assault was reported in the 800 block of Sheridan Street, with the reporting party saying he’d been punched, adding that the suspect left the area in a forest green Subaru. Officers made contact with the victim, who said he’d been punched by the suspect with a closed fist. The victim was transported back to his residence and a police report was taken. The police were unable to locate the suspect, but are familiar with them.

At 9:35 p.m. Monday, March 6, disorderly conduct was reported in the 400 block of West Sims Way after employees informed law enforcement of a belligerent customer. The customer was being disorderly at the customer service desk and left the store before officers arrived. Assistance was no longer needed.

At 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, a disturbance was reported in the 600 block of Hancock Street between a woman and neighbors in the area.

The woman appeared to be moving into an abandoned car in a close-by parking lot, which led to a verbal altercation between her and the reporting party’s husband.

The reporting party said the woman appeared to have been drinking and continued to watch her and make sure she didn’t damage any cars. Officers arrived and spoke to the woman. She had permission to be in the car, which was on city-owned property.

The nearby apartment complex’s manager wanted her trespassed from the apartment property, but the woman was allowed to be there since she was invited by a tenant.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, March 9, in the 1900 block of East Sims Way, an employee-business conflict was reported to police. The employee had been fired earlier and was calling the business after being told not to contact them or come back.

The employee had threatened to slander the store in the past, but was calling to receive a final paycheck.

The reporting party said they were concerned for their safety, and the former employee promised to come back to the business if the last paycheck wasn’t received.
