Port Townsend players among Volleyball champions

“I’d Hit That,” an adult volleyball team made up of players from Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles, defeated competing team “Ritzy Digs” by 25-21 and 25-20 in their championship match to win the Peninsula Volleyball League’s A Division on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 13.

“Upleft,” the 2022 champions, downed “Set For Life” by 20-25, 25-17 and 15-10 in the match to determine third and fourth place.

In the semifinal matches, “Ritzy Digs” came from behind to edge “Upleft” by 18-25, 25-23 and 15-9, while “I’d Hit That” rolled past “Set For Life” by 25-14 and 25-8.

The Peninsula Volleyball League B Division finals were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, when Steim Family Dentistry came back to edge 7 Cedars Casino by 22-25, 25-16 and 15-9 in the championship match.

Elwha Food and Fuel stopped “The Vengeance” by 25-21 and 25-12 to place third.

In the B Division semifinals, Steim Dental beat Elwha Food and Fuel by 25-19, 19-25 and 15-12, while 7 Cedars rallied to beat “The Vengeance” by 13-25, 25-19 and 15-9.

The Peninsula Volleyball League will offer a winter league in the New Year, starting the week of Jan. 8, 2024.
