A firefighter from East Jefferson Fire Rescue battles a brushfire in the 800 block of Sommerville Road in Chimacum early Friday, July 14. The fire was reported at 3:51 a.m. Firefighters from East Jefferson Fire Rescue, Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue, Quilcene Fire Rescue and Naval Magazine Indian Island worked to extinguish the fire, which was brought under control at about 5:50 a.m. At 7 a.m., a six-person crew with the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) completed the work.
