Patrick Williams, former resident of Quilcene, Wash., and long-time resident of Baker City, Ore., left this world on July 27, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Pat was born on March 23, 1949, in Tonasket, Wash., to Charles and Arloa (Burbank) Williams. He attended Quilcene High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Pat married Susan Ackerman in 1969, and they had three children.
He served in the Vietnam War from 1969-70 and was a Sergeant in the 25th Infantry Division 3⁄4 Cavalry. He returned from Vietnam and worked for Haldon Johnson JX Logging, Boulton Logging, and Crown Zellerbach Trucking in Portland, Ore. He also lived in Sacramento, Calif. and was a long haul truck driver for Market Transport.
Patrick later married Colleen Springer and was proud to help raise her child and his niece, the daughter of his late brother, Larry. They welcomed a son and lived in Baker City, Ore., where he worked as a mechanic for the Forest Service, and later for Baker City as a utility worker.
Pat is survived by his wife Colleen; children Angie (Mike) Hughes, Jason Williams, Joann (Tani) Williams-Hoxha, Sharay (Sam) Servey, Julie (James) Kang, Mathew (Feather) Williams; grandchildren Ceare Williams, Donovan and Winston Hoxha, Ella Servey, Elaynah and Eli Williams, and Penelope and Lewis Kang; six siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. We will all miss his wry sense of humor and laughter.
He is predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Dwayne, James, and Larry Williams.
Per Pat’s request, there will be no services. But next time friends and family go hunting/fishing, admire a classic car, enjoy farm life, or watch an old Western, we invite you to think fondly of Pat, as those were just a few of his favorite things.
