She was born in Port Townsend, Washington Nov. 25, 1930, to John and Maria C. Trotta. Mary grew up in Port Townsend attending school graduating from Port Townsend High School, Class of 1948. She went to Central Washington University to College for a time and upon returning home to live and work.

On Nov. 12, 1949, Mary married James (Jimmy) Minish at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church sharing 67 years of a fruitful marriage. Mary gave birth to eight children Al Minish, John Minish, Sue Minish, Jim Minish Jr., Jeff Minish, Ken Minish, Gregory (Greg) Minish, and Gary Minish.

Mary was a very busy mother, wife, and homemaker until after her children were grown, when she worked at the Jack N Jill Shop in Uptown Port Townsend for several years. Mary and Jim upon retirement vacationed in Honolulu Oahu Hawaii with great enjoyment during their trips to paradise. Mary has been a member of the Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church through her whole life, 90 years.
On Monday morning, Sept. 27, 2021, Mary passed away peacefully as God was calling her home to the place he had prepared for her at the age of 90 years, two months before her 91st birthday.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy in May 2017; her oldest son Al (Jane of Eloy, Arizona) Minish, December 2020; and her third son Jim (Patricia of Tucson, Ariz.) Minish, March 2021. Mary is survived by her remaining six children: son John (Toni) Minish of Snohomish; Sue (Mike) Nolan of Pasco; Jeff (Patty) Minish of Port Hadlock; Ken Minish of Port Townsend; Greg Minish of Covington; and Gary Minish of Edmonds. Mary is survived by 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren — truly a grand legacy. We all LOVE you Mary, Mom and Grandmother, rest in peace until we see you in heaven.

Funeral Mass will be at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1335 Blaine St., Port Townsend, WA 98367 at 10 a.m., with rosary preceding mass at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022. Burial at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be following mass.
