Jefferson County Sheriff's Log | Whistling was involved

Posted

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 279 calls for service between Saturday, July 23 and Friday, July 29. Below are selected reports.

At 6:58 p.m. Thursday, July 28 in Chimacum, a caller reported an ongoing issue with a neighbor.

The caller had made repeated harassment reports in the past.

When contacted, the caller had a hard time describing the most recent bad behavior, but said whistling was involved.

At 7:20 p.m. Thursday, July 28 in Port Ludlow, a resident called about an ongoing issue of dogs off-leash on Hemlock Street.

The caller said the owner of the dogs told her that she should be more afraid of him than his dogs.

The dogs were now on a leash and the owner was taking them home. The woman was afraid that the dog owner now knows where she lives.

The woman did not want to press charges, but wanted the incident documented. The woman had video footage of the dogs being off-leash.

The dog owner was contacted and he had a gripe about people listening to law enforcement activity on radio scanners. A deputy told him that he could do nothing about that.

The dogs were not seen to be aggressive and the owner was observed  rounding them up.

All parties were told the case would be forwarded to animal control.

At 8:53 p.m. Thursday, July 28 in Quilcene, a caller reported a person who was making threats.

The caller had been walking to the end of Sea Home Road to access the beach. The caller said a person who lives nearby in a recreational vehicle had a history of screaming at anyone who walks past his place.

The caller said he had permission from Rayonier to cross the company’s property, and said the man in the RV had also screamed at a woman and her children the day before.

The caller only wanted the incident documented because he believed the person in the RV was in the process of getting evicted.
