At 4:36 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 in Port Ludlow, a caller reported hearing a woman screaming and crying in the woods. The sound was coming from somewhere nearby, possibly off of Swansonville Road.
A deputy responded and found a woman who needed to use the bathroom and was getting some roadside relief. She had gone into the woods but was yelling at her husband over the phone, and the husband was found waiting nearby in his truck.
A deputy determined no crime had occurred.
At 8:58 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8 in Port Hadlock, a woman reported a theft that had happened between 4:30 and 5 a.m.
Someone had gone through her large dumpster, then came up to her porch.
She wanted it documented that people were trespassing and taking stuff out of the dumpster and making a mess.
A deputy reviewed a surveillance tape and noted two women could be seen looking through the large, on-site dumpster.
At 5:56 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 in Chimacum, a caretaker on a property said someone had built a fort made out of sticks in bushes on the property.
He said he yelled from a distance that there was no camping on the property, and someone yelled back, “So?”
A deputy contacted a person on the property and he was told he was not allowed to stay there. He said he understood and promised to leave, then he did.
At 6:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 in Quilcene, a healthcare worker reported a patient with a dog bite wound.
The man who had been bitten called authorities and said he didn’t want anything done about the bite. He had already contacted the dog’s owner and the animal had all of its shots.
