The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 240 calls for service between Saturday, March 5 and Friday, March 11. Below are selected reports.
At 9:51 a.m. Saturday, March 5 in Port Hadlock, dispatchers were notified of an unwanted person in the 100 block of Chimacum Road.
The caller could see someone on the property trying to enter a motor home.
The man left before law enforcement arrived, but a deputy later located the intruder and he was issued a trespass notice and warned about his behavior of entering properties where he was not welcome.
At 1:45 p.m. Saturday, March 5 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported a man who had come onto the property without permission.
The caller said the man was chased away.
Authorities determined the interloper was the same trespasser who had been reported earlier in the day.
The man was gone when a deputy responded.
At 4:25 p.m. Saturday, March 5 in Nordland, a caller at Smitty’s RV Park said a woman was refusing to go away after being asked to leave.
The woman, a resident of the park, had been visiting someone who also lives in the neighborhood.
The woman was contacted and it appeared she was suffering from mental health issues. The case was forwarded to a Navigator for a follow-up visit.
At 12:27 a.m. Sunday, March 6
in Nordland, a burglary was reported at Smitty’s RV Park that involved a woman from a call the previous afternoon.
The 35-year-old woman was taken into custody for DUI.
At 7:50 p.m. Sunday, March 6 in Chimacum, a caller reported a suspicious vehicle that had been seen in the area of Eaglemount Road and Blue Mountain Road.
The caller said the vehicle was parked on the side of the road.
A deputy responded and determined the vehicle had broken down due to a dead battery.
The officer assisted in jump-starting the vehicle.
No criminal activity was found.
At 8:27 a.m. Monday, March 7 in Quilcene, a caller reported an assault in the 29300 block of US Highway 101.
The caller said a woman attempted to scratch them and break a window on their vehicle.
The caller said the incident happened at a friend’s home in the Larson Lake area. The caller also asked for information on how to petition for a court order, and wanted documentation.
