The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 267 calls for service between Saturday, July 16 and Friday, July 22. Below are selected reports.

At 9:45 a.m. Thursday, July 21 in Brinnon, a lock was picked on a shed and a weed whacker and a leaf blower were stolen at the Brinnon Community Center.

The theft occurred overnight and was discovered on video camera footage.

At 5:32 p.m. Thursday, July 21 in Port Hadlock, a caller complained about a man who appeared to be camping in a parking lot.

The caller said the camper was a transient and wanted him removed from the property.

The camper was gone when a deputy arrived at the scene.

At 12:21 p.m. Friday, July 22 in Quilcene, a caller found a garage door was open and things had been scattered around.

The caller noticed the door open while she was walking in the neighborhood.

A deputy responded and discovered the property owner had passed away. Law enforcement tried to contact family members and left a message.

At 12:32 p.m. Friday, July 22 in Quilcene, a caller reported a gun that had been stolen.

It was unknown where the gun had been when it was stolen.

A report was taken and the gun was entered into a database as stolen.

At 3:33 p.m. Friday, July 22, a search-and-rescue team was called to the Lena Lake Trailhead after a woman sustained an ankle injury.

The woman was two miles up the trail.

She was brought out on a stretcher and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
