The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 228 calls for service between Saturday, Aug. 13 and Friday, Aug. 19. Below are selected reports.

Chimacum, a woman said a man who had come to her home the previous Wednesday for a telecommunications installation had since come back to her residence and was asking her out. She said the man was making her feel uncomfortable.

The woman said she had spoken earlier to a supervisor, and on the man’s previous visit, he had stayed way longer than what was needed after he had performed the necessary work.

The woman was advised that the incident had been documented and if the man returned, to contact authorities and the man would be issued an order for trespassing.

At 3:57 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 in Port Hadlock, a business reported a person had just stolen items from the store and was walking out.

The person was seen on foot in Irondale near the laundromat.

The store manager wanted the person trespassed

The suspected thief is known to authorities from previous contacts. A deputy searched for the man but did not find him.

At 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 in Port Hadlock, a caller said he had been assaulted at a house in Chimacum, and said he was at the hospital getting his head wound cleaned.

The man, 39, said the assault was unprovoked, and wanted to press charges, but the assailant lives in Pierce County.

Law enforcement spoke with the suspect on the phone. The man, 32, said the other person “said something f’d up, so he lit him up.”

He then admitted head-butting the victim.

Possible charges on the assault will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
