The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 237 calls for service between Saturday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 23. Below are selected reports.
At 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 in Port Hadlock, a theft was reported in the 100 block of Sunset Meadows Lane.
An unknown suspect broke into a vehicle and took a GPS locator, a firearm, and checkbooks and credit cards for various businesses.
The investigation is continuing.
At 12:37 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 in Chimacum, an assault was reported in the 400 block of Center Road.
A caller was trying to evict a renter but she got physical and started pushing the caller’s mother. Deputies found the suspect at the Chevron station.
The caller did not want to pursue charges, but did want to proceed with the eviction process.
Deputies assisted with explaining the eviction process. Animal control was also called due to a possible dog bite that occurred during the dispute.
At 10:27 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 in Port Ludlow, a theft was reported in the 500 block of Tala Shore Drive.
A license plate was stolen off the front of a vehicle.
At 12:02 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 in Chimacum, a caller reported a missing person.
A 23-year-old man did not return home the day before. The caller was concerned because he lost his job the day before.
While a deputy was investigating, the caller said she had heard from the missing man and the assistance of law enforcement was no longer needed.
At 1:18 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 in Chimacum, a theft was reported in the 3700 block of Beaver Valley Road.
A laptop computer was taken. The laptop was valued at $1,200.
