The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 233 calls for service between Friday, Feb. 17 and Friday, Feb. 24. Below are selected reports.
At 2:31 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 in Port Hadlock, a storage unit was burglarized.
The lock had been cut with bolt cutters and items had been stolen from the unit within the past week.
Missing items included a rolling tool box, a DeWalt miter saw, two air compressors, and a sump pump.
At 3:26 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 in Brinnon, a caller reported a vicious animal.
An aggressive dog was running through the area, and the caller said it nipped at his wife’s ankle.
The dog was described as being light brown with a fluffy tail. It was unknown who owned the animal.
The woman who was nipped at did not have a puncture wound, and the caller was unsure if the dog had left a mark on her leg.
The caller was asked to take a photograph of any injuries and to call 911 as soon as possible if the dog was aggressive again. The case was referred to an animal control officer.
At 8:47 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported threats had been made against a family member on social media.
The threats included a post that said “I really like you but you know how this goes now for sure an eye for an eye.”
The caller said a brother had been involved in an assault incident and there was now concern about other family members. Vague threats had been made through the brother.
At 9:26 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20 in Chimacum, malicious mischief was reported at the Brinnon School.
Someone drove onto school property and tore up the gravel parking lot, then ran into a fence.
The damage happened on the previous Saturday. A deputy was told a vehicle came onto school grounds a few times over the weekend and the driver was doing donuts before the vehicle hit a fence.
