The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 272 calls for service between Saturday, July 30 and Friday, Aug. 5. Below are selected reports.

At 9:46 p.m. Sunday, July 31 in Brinnon, a 42-year-old man had leg wounds from a dog bite.

He said his dogs got into a fight and when he tried to separate them, he got between the animals and was bitten.

He said the dogs have since been separated.

At 1:36 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1 in Brinnon, a caller reported a suspicious person in a white BMW who drove onto the property, and had since been seen backing in and out.

The back window of the BMW had been broken out, and the tinted windows made it impossible to give a description of the driver.

A deputy responded and contacted the driver of the BMW.

She said she was there to get her dogs. She said the man on the property had said she couldn’t have the dogs and threatened to bash her head in.

The man told the deputy he didn’t make any threats, and he said he owned the animals, and the RV, too.

The man said he would eventually give the dogs to the woman if a deputy was on the scene when it happened. He was told to call for a civil standby from a deputy if the dogs were handed over.

The woman also spoke with deputies, and wanted answers about the man’s lease of the RV.

She was told that issue was a situation for civil court, and she was also advised she should resolve arrest warrants in her name that had been made in Kitsap County.

At 2:48 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1 in Sequim, a Clallam Transit bus driver who was on US 101 and going toward Jefferson County reported a passenger aboard had become irate when the bus got stuck in traffic.

The man threatened to break windows in the bus if the driver didn’t stop and let him out.

The bus driver stopped, and the man took his backpack and started toward Blyn.

The Washington State Patrol was also dispatched to the call.

At 2:52 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1 in Port Hadlock, a woman reported an assault.

She said she was grabbed by the arm by another woman who had come over to her home.

The other woman had been an invited guest, but the resident decided she didn’t want her around anymore and asked her to leave.

That prompted the arm-grabbing incident.

The guest then left.

The caller asked what needed to be done to get a restraining order, but then added that she had experienced a fall about two weeks earlier.

She had the injury looked into and there were no broken bones, but noted her pain had since returned.

The woman also said she had been pushed, but couldn’t say who had pushed her. She said she also felt like a Taser had been used on her.

Dispatchers noted the woman was rambling, and her random recollections continued.

Authorities determined the caller was experiencing mental health issues.
