The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 124 calls between Friday, Jan. 28, and Thursday, Feb 4.  Below are selected reports.

At 3:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, a woman in the 3200 block of Cliff Street said her husband had hit her. This was an ongoing issue with her separated spouse, she said. The man had hit her in the face with his fist over an argument about keys, she said. Their 8-year-old son was with her husband, but she had gone to her mother’s house.

Officers were unable to make contact with the husband. The woman showed no obvious signs of injury, and her story showed some inconsistencies as had been noted on previous reports.

She determined the child was safe with her husband, and that she would stay with her mother. Information about Dove House services was provided.

At 12:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, a mother in the 800 block of Benton Street said she hadn’t been able to contact her disabled son, who lives in a group home with several other people, since the previous night.

She asked officers to check in on him, as she lives in Chimacum and doesn’t drive.

Officers spoke to the caregiver, who was not aware that calls were not going through. It was discovered that the phone had been disconnected.

At 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, a woman in the 800 block of Harrison Street called on her cellphone to report that as she was walking by a residence, she heard screaming and banging.

When officers responded, they found an elderly woman who was watching TV.

At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, a caller in the 2400 block of Sims Way reported that they were told a woman was searching for her lost 6-year-old child.

She had asked the caller to contact the child’s father, but she knew neither the child’s nor the father’s name. Officers transported the woman, who appeared to be suffering mental health issues, to the hospital, where she had been the night previous.

The woman has no known history of mental health issues, but appeared to be suffering from delusions as the child did not exist.

She was staying in a local hotel where she had checked in at 3 and wandered about until 6 p.m. the night before. Dove House had facilitated her stay.

At 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, a caregiver in the 2500 block of Quest Avenue said she couldn’t access her patient’s home. No one was coming to the door or answering her calls.

An officer arrived and confirmed it did not appear that anyone was home. It seemed that the wife was off work, so her husband was likely with her.

At 8:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, a caller reported that their neighbor was screaming, “Die, die,” and “I want you to die, and all your children to die.”

The caller was disturbed, had left their apartment in the 900 block of Water Street.

When officers responded, they were met by a very polite man who said he can get vocal while watching the news.
