Former Port Townsend resident Dana J. Blank, 44, of Brick Township, New Jersey, died June 20, 2017 after suffering an aneurysm on Father’s Day. She was 44. Memorial services were held in Wall, NJ., the following Saturday.

Born in Neptune, New Jersey on March 24, 1973, Dana was raised in Brick, on the Metedeconk River as it widens into a bay on the Jersey Shore. She moved to Port Townsend with her son Emmett, in 2002. She worked as the manager of Dana’s Auto in Glen Cove from 2003-2007. She most recently lived on the Oregon Coast at Rockaway Beach before returning in 2016 to New Jersey and her extended family with her 7-year-old son, Odin.

Dana loved nature and was happiest when outdoors, especially with her family. She home-schooled her youngest son and was a dance enthusiast, most recently teaching at Fred Astaire School of Dance.

Dana is survived by her two sons, Emmett Coley Blank, Port Townsend, WA. and Odin Wilson of Brick, NJ.; mother, Barbara Blank of Wall, N.J.; father Gary Blank (Katie) of Allenwood, N.J.; sister Amanda Rothstein (Justin) of Lake Tahoe, CA; maternal grandparents Edward and Jean Johnson of Wall; paternal grandmother Dorothy Blank of Allenwood; many loving relatives, and friends on both coasts.
