Jefferson County has received four proposals for personnel to staff the planned security checkpoints at the courthouse, and those prospective contractors have already been narrowed down to two finalists.
PPC Solutions and American Guard Services are the finalists, according to Mark McCauley, director of central services for the county.
Two other companies, Security Services Northwest and Pierce County Security/Pacific Security, also submitted applications by the Nov. 8 deadline.
By Nov. 15, McCauley noted, the county had evaluated and scored the applicants, whittling the list down to two for interviews, one that took place Nov. 17 and another that’s slated Nov. 22.
“After that, we will make a selection and release the information about the proposals,” McCauley said.
McCauley’s target date for a contractor to be approved by the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners is Dec. 11.
