Alvin Ronald Bishop, “Ron,” loving husband and father, passed away on Dec. 23, 2022, at the age of 83.
Ron was born Jan. 31, 1939, in Port Townsend to Arthur and Olive Bishop of Chimacum. He graduated from Chimacum High School and worked at Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill before enlisting in the United States Army. He served as an active soldier before coming back home and joining the Reserve. He continued to work at Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill for the next 27 years, while also working on his family farm, Bishop Organic Dairy Farm, until his retirement.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; two nieces; and his sister, Darlene Strain. He is also survived by his current wife, Sue; children, Ron (Shannon), Billy, and Sherry (Jesse), all of Chimacum; step-children, Rex and Christi; his brothers Gerald and Wayne that still live on the family farm; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses on Egg & I Road in Chimacum.
