Three people required medical treatment after a three-vehicle accident Friday, Feb. 3 on State Route 19 in Chimacum.

East Jefferson Fire Rescue responded to the accident scene – a few yards from the fire hall in Chimacum – at 3:29 p.m. after a white Ford F250 pickup rear-ended a silver Chevrolet HHR station wagon, which was stopped in the northbound lane. A white Lexus ES 300 sedan was in front of the Chevrolet, attempting to turn left into the Chimacum post office parking lot. After being struck by the pickup, the Chevrolet rolled forward, striking the Lexus.

Two women in the Chevrolet were transported to Jefferson Healthcare Medical Center in Port Townsend with moderate injuries, according to Bill Beezley, EJFR public information officer. The driver of the F250, a 17-year-old Port Ludlow woman, was also transported for evaluation after complaining of back pain.

The driver of the Lexus, a 49-year-old man from Sequim, was uninjured.

The Washington State Patrol investigated the accident.
