Work party at H.J. Carroll Park on Jan. 20

A work party has been slated to clean up pathways and weeds at the H.J. Carroll County Park on Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The all-native plant garden around the smaller kitchen shelter, developed by volunteers, now displays over 140 species of northwest native plants. However, the pathways are badly in need of repair after 10 years.

“We are looking for some people to remove weeds, others to scrape off soil and wheelbarrow it away and then the paths can be raked smooth and made clearly walkable once more,” said Linda Landkammer, project coordinator for the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation. “We are inviting you to join us for at least two hours. We will provide tools and refreshments. Please come if you can.”

For more information contact Landkammer via email at wild4nature@isomedia.com or call 379-8733.
