We need Eisenhour for our challenging times | Letter to the editor

I am writing to provide my strongest endorsement for Heidi Eisenhour and her campaign for county commissioner.

I have known Heidi for the past 10 years and much appreciate the contributions and leadership she has provided during these times. Examples include her work at Jefferson Land Trust to help preserve acres of farms and forests and miles of salmon habitat. Additional examples include helping to save the Ajax Cafe and raising funds to restore the county library.

Hedi has a long history with Jefferson County. I know she has attended school in Jefferson County and worked in boatyards, kitchens and nonprofits. Her current work, as chief operating officer for the Northwest Maritime Center, is another example of her hard work and demonstration of how she unites the community and accomplishes objectives that recognize and address all aspects of decisions and actions. In Heidi, these attributes and abilities are combined with honesty, caring for the county and its residents, and demonstrated performances where she does her homework, listens with an open cooperative approach, and makes informed decisions that often forge coalitions for moving forward.

With the multitude of challenges and opportunities now before us in Jefferson County, I strongly believe we are very fortunate to have Heidi Eisenhour seeking the District 2 County Commissioner position. We need her skills, experiences, and demonstrated performance attributes for these challenging times.
