The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission conducts a special meeting and planning session in Port Townsend.
The meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, and continues from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Nora Porter Commons in Fort Worden Historical State Park, 200 Battery Way, Port Townsend.
The commission won't take formal action, according to Virginia Painter, State Parks spokesperson. The meeting is open to the public; however, no public comment is to be heard.
The meeting agenda includes a review of 2016, updates from agency assistant directors on current projects and initiatives, a discussion about new officers to serve on commission subcommittees, an update on Fort Worden Historical State Park; an update on Fort Worden Public Development Authority activities and a general discussion with the agency’s assistant attorney general.
Tuesday, Dec. 6, commission members are to tour Fort Townsend Historical State Park, located just outside PT off State Route 20, and meet with the Friends of Fort Townsend starting at 3 p.m.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, commission members a tour of Fort Worden partner organizations, starting at Madrona MindBody Institute. At 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, commission members continue a tour of Fort Worden partner organizations, starting at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center.
