Jefferson County Public Health will spend $9,830 to make five videos to highlight its employees.
The videos, which will be used on the health department’s website and social media, will also promote vaccinations for COVID-19.
Jefferson County commissioners approved a contract Monday with Whaleheart Productions of Port Townsend to plan, shoot, and edit the five videos.
In a request for funding, public health officials said the videos “will combat the concept of a ‘faceless government.’ They will give the community an opportunity to see staff for the caring professionals and fellow community members they are.”
The professional services agreement with Whaleheart Productions runs through July 2023.
According to the bid for the project, just one of the five videos will be solely on COVID vaccinations.
That 59-second spot will show the process of getting a vaccine at Jefferson County Public Health.
Another 59-second video will show how to use the health department’s soon-to-be-released mobile app.
Two other videos will show the “Faces of Public Health”; with short interviews and footage that shows employees at work.
The fifth video, which will be edited for a 2-minute version and a 59-second version, will depict an overview of services offered by the health department.
The contract bid includes a detailed breakdown in costs, including pre-production, production, and post-production of the videos. A producer and a videographer will be paid $85 an hour for their work.
