With THING festival only a month away, visitors to Port Townsend will be treated to seven days of musical merriment and arts through Soundcheck.

The weeklong event will take place from Aug. 19 to
Aug. 25 — with THING Festival starting on Aug. 26 — and will contain a variety of locally-focused fun from the Uptown Street Fair to Jazz Night to Poetry for Justice.

First established in 2019, Soundcheck celebrates the artists and performers of Port Townsend and the surrounding community while providing early-arriving THING attendees a taste of the wealth of talent and culture on the Peninsula.

Soundcheck has teamed up with the Port Townsend Creative District, Port Townsend Main Street, and a bunch of other local organizations to provide a wide range of entertainment from the talented artists and artisans of the community.

With at least one event for every day of the week, visitors will be treated to an assortment of arts events whether it’s music, dancing, film, or other forms of entertainment.

Following the seven days of entertainment from Soundcheck, THING Festival will kick off on Aug. 26.

Bussing services will start Aug. 25 with stops all around Port Townsend.
