There and back again

This week’s grocery trip had an early stop at Safeway followed by takeout coffee at Sunrise across the street. Then two hours at Point Hudson to watch the ship traffic (one empty grain carrier inbound) and the big flock of Brandt geese (they will leave for the Yukon soon), and at least three different public works pickups passing through. Wet tracks from the street sweeper/washer were evident, as well.

A stop at the garden center, the minute it opened was already getting busy. Not even a pandemic precludes the annual flowers ritual. Then up the hill to QFC for a few things and a conversation with the produce department.

We couldn’t figure out (speaking through our masks at appropriate distance), why we were selling grain to China as it prepares for food independence (are we prepared)? And why PT’s public works budget is spending any more than 30% of the pre-pandemic rate?

Everyone stay well.
