The groovy rock and blues artistry of southern singer/songwriter Jeff Plankenhorn will soon make its way to the Olympic Peninsula with a concert at the Palindrome at Eaglemount Cidery.
The virtuoso is a multi-instrumentalist who designed his own signature lap-steel guitar called “The Plank,” which gained Plankenhorn an Austin Music Award in 2017.
The Texan troubadour will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Match 4 at the Palindrome.
Tickets are $20 each online or $25 at the door. Online tickets can be purchased at ticketstorm.com/e/27657/t.
Plankenhorn is a world-class songwriter and has previously been an accompanist to the stars and first-call session musician in Texas. He’s played with greats like Joe Ely, Ruthie Foster, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and more for 16 years. Now that he’s gone solo, the specialist has found success in his groovy guitar grit.
In 2016, Plankenhorn released the critically acclaimed “SoulSlide” album, which featured performances by Ruthie Foster, Malford Milligan, Rami Jaffe of the Foo Fighters and The Wallflowers, along with The Resentments. The album included co-writes from Bret Dennen, Gary Nicholson, and Miles Zuniga of Fastball.
Plankenhorn was also a Black Fret major grant recipient in 2018.
He released his second full-length album, “Sleeping Dogs,” in 2018. The record featured Ray Wylie Hubbard and Patty Griffin, and was co-produced by Scrappy Jud Newcomb.
