$50 million for a pool?! For those of us who are established here, many of us are getting taxed out. The city is already having trouble maintaining its financial and social responsibilities. Building a “lazy river” and “birthday party room” won’t help the families and wage-earners who are struggling to hang on

What is the cost of repairing the existing pool, adding another 20 years of life?
And, so what if the roof leaks -- it's a POOL!
If there are structural problems with the roof, then fix just what's required for safety.
To PT and BOCC and everyone else trying to pick our pockets:
Pay attention to the rapidly growing number of NO PT POOL TAX signs that are sprouting throughout the area (including in the city).
County property owners will not support this $50 million mistake, and I suspect a lot of PT people will not want to pay $500 per year in added property tax PLUS higher sales taxes to build a facility that is used by about 80 people per day.
