The Rivals High School Wrestling Program has 44 athletes currently on the roster. "During the first week of practice we had 37 wrestlers practice on Monday and Friday,” said Coach Jim Wilcox. "It was great to see so many kids working hard in our room.” In this photo the five wrestling captains for this season are teaching the warm-ups to the team. Team captains include senior Mi Amada Lanphear Ramirez, sophomores Jameson Henery, Grady White, Rylen Kruse, and Manaseh Lanphear Ramirez. Both Mi Amada Lanphear Ramirez and Jameson Henery competed at the State Tournament last season. "We are still looking to add to our team, specifically any high school athletes that weigh less than 120 pounds,” said Head Coach Steve Grimm. “Our roster is loaded from the middle-weights up through heavyweight, but it would be great if some more smaller kids came and checked out a practice." Practice normally runs from 3:30 through 5:30 at the PTHS wrestling room.
