The Jefferson County Emergency Operations Center has issued a winter storm warning for this weekend.
The advisory, from noon Friday, Feb. 8, through noon Saturday, Feb. 9, warns of heavy snow with accumulations of 3 to 5 inches for areas that include Port Townsend and outlying areas of the county.
"Travel could be very difficult," the advisory stated Thursday afternoon. "Local blowing snow could contribute to reduced visibility.
"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency," the advisory stated.
