No one really knows what is going to happen next in this health-challenged, political, and economic climate. We all suspect that tougher times are ahead, but it’s hard to know how things are actually going to play out.
One thing is for sure — we need wise, experienced leaders now more than ever. We cannot afford on-the-job training of our elected officials — especially not right now. Things are moving fast and our county must be ready to respond quickly and decisively, leveraging all available resources at every level of our government and our community. Lorna Smith can step in effectively to lead us on day one. She is ready to lead right now.
Lorna’s years of experience and skills are the assets that will make a real difference in the years ahead for Jefferson County. Lorna has already shown that she can lead on the Planning Commission and her solutions have been widely recognized and appreciated. Her proposals have passed unanimously on both the Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners.
We all know she gets the job done for us and she never grandstands about it. She is humble and focused on service to the community, not getting attention for herself. That is why I encourage everyone to vote for Lorna Smith!
