The Rotary Club of Port Townsend recently awarded $30,000 in the form of grants to eight nonprofit organizations in Jefferson County.
Bayside Housing, The Benji Project, The Community Boat Project, Foster Supports, Jefferson Community Foundation (Housing Solutions Network), Jumping Mouse, Olympic Angels and Olympic Neighbors were all recipients of grants this year.
The club’s focus was on awarding grants to the organizations that assist children and youth and provide shelter.
“We strive to manage the funds in an effective, appropriate, and timely manner to ensure that the grants awarded result in positive impacts in our community,” said Carla Caldwell, grants chair for the Rotary Club of Port Townsend.
Members raised the grant money at their yearly fundraiser, which was an auction held online.
