Port Townsend High School's Knowledge Bowl team secured their second consecutive state championship title, but not before a nail-biting semifinal that pushed the competition into overtime.

“There was a bit of drama in the semifinal,” said team captain Indigo Gould. “But we rallied and pulled through as a team. Everybody on the team had some amazing moments that really helped us earn that trophy.”

In addition to Gould, team members included Hazel Windstorm, Stuart Dow, Hugh Wentzel, Mateu Yearian, and Eli Hill.

In the morning rounds of play, Port Townsend secured the highest score across all participating schools, regardless of size.

Port Townsend High School's Knowledge Bowl team has established itself as a formidable force in the academic arena. This is the team’s third time to earn the state championship title in the last four state tournaments.

“We’re becoming a bit of a Knowledge Bowl dynasty,” said coach Benjamin Dow.

The coach noted that the team's victory wasn’t just a testament to their collective knowledge but to the strength of their collaboration, honed over the season. He added that much credit is due to the rigor and quality of the academic program at PTHS.
