A solo exhibition and installation by Port Townsend artist Gloria Lamson is displayed at the Peninsula College Pirate Union Building Gallery (PUB) in Port Angeles until Oct. 23.

Lamson gives an artist's talk at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8 at the college's Little Theater, followed by a reception at 1:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.

Lamson is known for creating temporary, site-specific art installations and interactions in natural and architectural environments using common human-made or natural materials. In the last three years, she has created numerous installations for the window next door to The Printery on Tyler Street in Uptown.

At her Port Angeles exhibition, titled "Life Stream," people can view her large-scale installation at the PUB Gallery of Art from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Often working in remote wilderness, Lamson documents her work with still photographs. Her interest, she says, is to bring the outside in and the inside out in nature and the human psyche, wanting to nurture the integration of humans within "a more than human" world.

In "Life Stream," Lamson has created a contemplative space and metaphoric images of our time in this world. She imagines the journey of our lives “weaving like a thread through time, crossing paths with others and contributing to a larger stream of vital energy.”
