Portland folk trio performing this weekend

Posted

The Stephanie Schneiderman Trio will be performing 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15 at the Palindrome at Eaglemount Cidery. This event is hosted by Rainshadow Recording and Concerts and sponsored by Strait Floors, Robin’s Nest Bed and Breakfast, and KPTZ Radio.

Based in Portland, Schneiderman is known for combining elements of folk, Americana, trip hop, and pop into a dark and introspective sound. Her acoustic trio features Jenny Conlee (of the Decemberists) on accordion and Keith Brush (of the Blue Cranes) on upright bass.

Schneiderman has released nine albums as a solo artist, played drums for pop band Swan Sovereign, performed in the musical “The Full Monty,” and produced a humanitarian concert series that raised more than $70,000 for refugees in Uganda. She also produced the soundtracks for three popular children’s DVDs.

Over the course of her career, Schneiderman has performed with artists such as Hall & Oates, Heart, Train, Sarah McLachlan, Aimee Mann, and Marc Cohen.

Her new album, “Crossfire,” celebrates her maiden voyage as a self-producer, and is funded by pre-purchases and community house concerts.

“For all around musicianship, imagination, songwriting, and pure inspiration, this gets my vote for the best of the year on any chart, in any genre,” said Tom D’Antoni.

Tickets for the concert are $20 online at ticketstorm.com/e/28213/t/ or $25 cash or check at the door.
