A Port Townsend resident — a female under the age of 20 — has tested positive for COVID-19, Jefferson County Public Health officials reported Tuesday.
Jefferson County has had 323 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
Test results for 62 county residents were received Feb. 9, with only one positive test for the coronavirus.
A total of 53 people in Jefferson County were still awaiting COVID-19 test results Tuesday.
Health officials said 16 people with COVID-19 remain in isolation. That's a decrease from 18 on Monday.
A total of 269 residents have recovered from COVID. According to the health department, 23 residents have been hospitalized after getting the coronavirus, and two deaths in Jefferson County have been attributed to the disease.
Through Feb. 9, a total of 18,248 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 17,872 tests have come back negative.
Through Tuesday, 150 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 144 in mid-county residents; and 29 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
More males than females have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Jefferson County; 165 males have been confirmed with the coronavirus, and 158 females.
Jefferson County is no longer providing individual case detail for those who have tested positive to COVID-19.
Details on the new infection reported Tuesday come from a comparison of countywide COVID statistics provided by Jefferson County Public Health on Feb. 8 and updated numbers released by the department Feb. 9.
