The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 143 calls between Friday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, Sept. 1. Below are selected reports.

At 6:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, an employee in the 500 block of Sheridan Street reported a man who stole liquor from their store and fled on a red bike.

The employee asked police to trespass the man from returning to the store if he was found. Officers arrived in the area but were unable to find the man.

At 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the 1300 block of Water Street, a man was trespassed from the ferry station after attempting to jump a fence and board the vessel without paying.

The man was stopped by ferry employees, but he ran away from the station and was seen yelling at nearby cars on the street. The man appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Officers drove to the scene and searched for the man, but were unsuccessful.

At 11:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, a caller in the 600 block of Water Street told police that it appeared that guests staying above their business had thrown chairs out the window and destroyed them.

The inn owner told police that they suspected guests had done it, and officers drove to the area to investigate.

After looking around, officers discovered footprints of someone climbing up the side of the building and entering the second floor. The caller provided video footage to police to further investigate the crime.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, a resident near the 12th and Landes streets intersection called to report loud music in the area.

The caller said someone with an amplified instrument was playing loud music. The issue is an ongoing dispute.

At 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, a domestic disturbance was reported between a man and woman.

The reporting party told law enforcement they’d heard a man screaming at a woman in the area.

Officers came to the scene and spoke with the two. The argument was verbal-only and the woman refused to give officers her name and didn’t wish to speak with police. The man apologized for the yelling and the officers left the area.

At 12:35 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, a caller on 20th Street reported a 14-year-old boy being harassed by his 17-year-old sister. The caller said the sister was being aggressive and tried to knock down the door to his room, but it hadn’t turned physical. The boy went to a neighbor’s house because he was afraid of the sister.

Officers came to the home but the sister had already left. The boy stayed at the neighbor’s house until his mother got home.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, in the 400 block of Sims Way, a caller reported a lime-green Chevrolet Camaro with a black star on its side parked in a handicap spot.

The issue had been going on for weeks and the store owner wanted the driver to be trespassed due to suspected theft issues. The driver was issued a ticket for parking in a handicap spot.
