Eva Brady, Matia Reimnitz, Rowan Feland, Kai Langston, Toby Fulton, Sam Holmes, Emerson Queen and Trey Hill show off the blanket they made at Port Townsend's Blue Heron School. All of the sixth-grade math classes participated in the quilt project, learning about ratios and proportions, scale drawings, measurements and fractions. The blankets were made from a kit, but the students had to measure, trim and remeasure, make fringe, sew and tie the blankets. Funds to help pay for the kits were given to the teachers by the Port Townsend Education Foundation. Photos by Allison Arthur
