Parks aplenty

Dear Editor:

When I was a kid, we had the recreation center. What a place. There we could could enjoy many activities where young people could hang out. OMG, parents knew where there kids were. Then it was gone!

Then the skating rink and your parents knew where you were. The bowling alley became a grocery store. Not one benefit for the youth in this city!

We have more city parks and State Parks than you can shake a stick at. What the heck do we need a "central park" for, when  many of the parks are under utilized as it is? The golf course is prime real estate to develop and change the landscape for those who seek future monetary benefits. I can't golf, but wish I could. What a great place for exercise, a challenge to score better, and above all nurturing of friendships. How many thousands of dollars has the city spent to come up with a grand solution? Golf is a developed skill over time. Maybe we should close the "oral" club and use our hips to make the next swing.
