Just saw the Herman James show at the Grover Gallery and it is quite amazing.
The large very playful piece you can see through the window, “Duck Takes Charge,” draws you right in off the sidewalk!
And there are so many other very wonderful pieces to see.
One of my favorites is the very beautiful woman with the conch shell hat, with smaller shells that seem to hang gently in her hair while waves delicately surround her. Who is she? Where is she? What is she thinking?
There are also several pieces that feature lots of carefully structured hair with intriguing small touches
like small birds, fruits, and even vegetables.
The underwater scenes with delicate marine creatures and vegetation are quite amazing and mysterious and suggest another world full of beauty to explore.
Definitely worth a visit! A wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
