On August 12, a beautiful sunny morning in Port Townsend, Myrtle Gordon passed away gently in her sleep. Born in 1916 in Newark, New Jersey, Myrt was 99 years old, the matriarch of the Gordon clan.

At 21, Myrt married the "love of my life," William Gordon and with him raised three children, Pat, Bill and Pam. With children grown, Myrt and William moved to California and soon after her beloved husband passed, she moved to the Pacific Northwest finally settling at Seaport Landing in Port Townsend.

Myrt spent most of her adult life doing for others, countless hours volunteering for various charitable organizations, never wavering, always ready to lend a hand.

With a keen mind and contagious laugh there was never a mountain too high for her to climb and until the day she passed, her laugh could be heard echoing down the hallways.

Myrt is preceded in death by her husband, William and daughter, Patricia.

Myrt will be missed but never forgotten by her loving family, her sister Gail in Deerfield, Illinois, her son Bill from Telluride, Colorado and her daughter, Pamela who lives in Chimacum, Washington. Myrt's extended family hails from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific, from Texas to Canada, two children, six grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. They will all be saddened by her passing buy pleased to have been a part of her life.

The family would like to express our heart felt gratitude to Jefferson Healthcare Hospital and Life Care Center in Port Townsend for their professional and loving care during Myrt's final days. The nurses and staff were extraordinary and made Myrt's passing comfortable and peaceful.

As per her request there will be no service.
