The vessel "Misty" makes a foggy departure from the marina at Point Hudson Thursday morning.
Heavy fog the morning of Sept. 9 forced Washington State Ferries to suspend sailings from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island.
Ferry officials said the ferry M/V Salish made repeated attempts to cross Admiralty Inlet but had to return to Port Townsend due to fog and reduced visibility.
WSF canceled the 8 a.m. sailing from Port Townsend and 8:45 a.m. sailing from Coupeville.
