Monica MickHager is the responsible choice for Port Townsend City Council Position #3.
Port Townsend cannot afford four more years of its current leadership. We are reeling from an out-of-control housing market and irresponsible investment in the name of tourism and economic development. These choices have actually driven away businesses, because workers can’t find anywhere to live, and they have limited our options by saddling the city with debt. Monica will restore responsible financial decision-making and transparent public process.
Incumbents Amy Howard and David Faber have served the city well for the past four years. On committees and community boards, they are strong and engaged. They are ready to lead and deserve to be re-elected. Deb Stinson does not. As mayor, Stinson has held back council to protect the priorities of the former city manager.
Port Townsend will be welcoming new City Manager John Mauro this week. John can depend on guidance from strong and experienced staff and council members.
Voters need to complete the change in our city government. I am running for Port Townsend City Council Position #4, and I look forward to working with Amy, David, and Monica to make Port Townsend accessible and affordable to all.
We understand how the city government has been working for the past four years. That’s why we want to change it.
