Perhaps a loved one is a fan of open waters and magnificent sea creatures Experience the nautical wildlife of the Salish Sea with Puget Sound Express, and see the incredible whales and sea creatures of the area up close and from the comfort of one of the tour company’s vessels. Splinter SUP(Stand Up Paddleboard), a group that teaches paddleboard lessons and hand-crafts exquisite boards has you covered for getting started. Chris Dorée, an avid paddleboarder and instructor from Splinter, offers lessons and tours for complete novices looking to dip their toe in the sport, as well as intermediate paddleboarders looking to hone their skills.

“It’s a social experience while getting great cardio and a full-strength workout,” Dorée said of the sport. “The paddleboard is a very unique perspective, it’s a very intimate experience.”

Dorée’s lessons are geared to teach beginner and experienced paddleboarders, and provide them with the skills and knowledge to be comfortable and improve.
